Learning to Cycle:

It doesn’t matter if you are an Adult or Child, learning to ride is challenging & stressful! I provide training in traffic free, safe environments, were you can relax and enjoy being on two wheels.
For children, I use a mixture of Balance bike riding and riding with the child’s own pedal bike in half hour to an hour long sessions (NO Stabilisers!!).
For Adults, I use a pedal bike as a Balance bike and we work towards both pedals being put back on!
All coaching is specific to the needs of you, so you’ll be moved to the next step when your ready!
Age range 4-100 (Remember, it’s never to late!)
Cost from: £35 per hour.
For safeguarding assurances, parents/guardians must be present at all times.
Safe Road Riding:

Training is based on quite residential roads in the locality of where you live and also can use the route taken to school if your child wishes to start to ride to school and the school actively encourages cycling through its travel plan.
The core principles are; to teach how to ride safely on the road and to respect other road users.
The course incorporates where to ride in the road and when to ride in those positions, when and how to signal, positioning for turning in/out of junctions and for those of aged 11-12 and in Year 7 of Secondary school I coach in addition, the use of roundabouts, multi lanes and traffic lights.
Age 9+ (in Year 5 or above) & Adults
Cost from:
Per hour – £40.00
On a 1:1 bases, under 18yrs old must be accompanied by an adult for safeguarding assurances.

Bike & Helmet Hire:
It is always best to have your own bike, even when starting to ride, as you will become more confident and familiar with how it works. If you do not have your own, don’t worry, I have a couple of children’s bikes you can hire.
Frog Plus+ Balance Bike
Frog 48 – 14″ wheel bike for aged 4-6 children with a min inside leg of 48cm
Frog 53 – 20″ wheel bike for aged 6-9 children with a min inside leg of 53cm
Frog 62 – 24″ wheel bike for aged 7-10 children with a min inside leg of 62cm
Frog 67 – 24″ wheel bike for aged 10-12 children with a min inside leg of 67cm
Frog 69 – 26″ wheel bike for aged 12-14 children with a min inside leg of 69cm
To cover maintenance costs a small fee of £5.00 per 1hr session is charged.

I have chosen to use Frog bikes as they’re built from light weight aluminium and have child specific geometry. They have child friendly sized brake levers which aids learning how to slow and stop the bike! anti-steer lock – which prevents the handle bars turning around fully to prevent injury if child falls off!
All the advice and coaching given is based on the National Bikeability scheme, British Cycling and over 30yrs experience of riding! Giving best practice on safer riding on the road.
